Sri Guru Harkrishan Sr. Sec. Public School, Majhwind-Gopalpura was established in 1998 on two acres of land under the aegis of Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society. Previously it was known by the name of Janta Public School. Then the school has added many feathers to its cap with the sincere efforts of the founder Principal Ms. Pritam Kaur Khalsa. At present, the Institution is being supervised by the Principal Mrs. Paramjit Kaur under the able and supportive guidance of Members in charge S. Swinder Singh Ji Kathunangal (Ex. MLA, Majitha), S. Ajit Singh Ji Tuli, S.Harkanwal Singh Ji Kohli. The passionate and enthusiastic coordination and co-operation of Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society, member’s in charge Local Committee, faculty, students, and above all parents is behind the great success of the institution named after “Bala Pritam” Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib Ji. Affiliated to CBSE up to class XII, the school offers all the streams namely medical, non-medical, commerce, and Humanities. Besides academics, the school boasts of a vast array of scholastic and co-scholastic activities to hone the inborn talents of the students. The School stands pompously on a spacious campus having an aesthetic ambiance with modern amenities. It is designed in a triple-story building and the presence of Gurudwara Sahib has added grandeur and grace to the campus. It has spacious and airy classrooms furnished with comfortable furniture, fully equipped Science Laboratories, a well-stocked library, an Art and Craft room, Mathematics, Geography, Computer Labs, and Language Lab. The school has excellent infrastructure by way of a multipurpose hall, basketball court, and a number of playfields. School is catering approximately 1100 pupils up till 12th std. The objectives of SGHPS are to disseminate advanced knowledge and to provide instructional research and extension facilities in various branches of learning. The school has always delineated 100% results in X and XII Examination held by CBSE every year. This Year also in class X our 2 students got a CGPA of 10 and 3 students got a CGPA of 9.6. Our Medical student Prabhjot Kaur has secured 87.29% in XII board exams. Not only in studies but students are excelling in co-curricular activities as well. Our students have shown their brilliant skills in Gatka and won special prizes. Various declamation contests house vise competitions, quizzes, seminars, and practical symposiums are organized every year. Our student Ravneet Kaur showcased the best of their public speaking skills. In sports our students are equally excellent and won 2 Gold medals, 3 Bronze, and 3 Silver medals in the inter-school sports meet organized by CKDCS. Students won second prize in basketball competitions at Raj Memorial School Ajnala.
